Dear Members,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to welcome you to another new curling season. This is shaping up to be a very exciting year at our club. A new season brings fresh opportunities to enjoy great competition, improve your skills, reconnect with friends, and make new ones along the way.
Our new ice plant has been installed, tested and ready to ‘Rock’! A huge thank you to our Ice Tech Wayne, who managed the installation project. Also, a big thank you to the many volunteers who assisted in making this project a success.
We also want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who donated toward the new ice plant. Some of these contributions were particularly substantial and made anonymously. To all our donors: your generosity has placed our club in the strong, stable financial situation we currently enjoy, making this major upgrade possible. Please know that there will be future opportunities to donate and receive tax receipts as we continue to invest in our facility, and we remain profoundly grateful to those who have already stepped up so generously to build the vibrant club we have today.
Our Septemberfest will be 9 holes of golf and dinner back at the curling club. This will have an Octoberfest theme and all are welcome. You do not have to be a golfer to participate, just willing to have fun! On the weekend of October 16-18, we have a Curling Ontario qualifier for the Men’s and Women’s Club Champions from our area. The winners will qualify for the provincial championship and ultimately the national championship. More information on other events will follow once details are worked out.
Our club has always been about more than just curling. It’s about sportsmanship, friendship, volunteerism, and creating a welcoming environment where curlers of all ages and abilities can enjoy the game. We encourage everyone to participate—not only on the ice, but also in our social events, bonspiels, and club activities throughout the season.
We would like to thank our dedicated volunteers, sponsors, and staff whose hard work makes everything we do possible. Every contribution, big or small, helps strengthen our club.
As we begin the season, we wish everyone good curling, good health, and plenty of memorable moments. May your draws be precise, your takeouts be clean, and your time at the club be enjoyable both on and off the ice.
